LOCATION: A stylish refuge on a panoramic cliff above Zihuatanejo Bay, surrounded by the sea, and adjacent to Playa La Ropa, the area's best beach. La Casa Que Canta is a five-minute drive to the fishing village of Zihuatanejo and a 15-minute drive from the airport.

RESORT DESCRIPTION: La Casa Que Canta, "the house that sings," is named for the sounds of the sea surrounding the property. Like an exquisite cliffside village, the hotel's dramatic multi-tiered architecture is fashioned entirely from natural materials. The resort features terra-cotta "adobe" walls, thatched roofs, and thick tropical wooden louvered doors and windows. The entire hotel is decorated with Mexican handcrafted furniture, handicrafts and folk art.

The hotel's three sections -- Sol, Mar and Luna -- are set around a central "palapa" housing an open-air restaurant and intimate, multi-tiered sitting areas. Twenty-five suites are located in the three cliff-side buildings. Adjacent to the central "palapa" is the resort's reception area, featuring an open-air patio.

There are two spectacular swimming pools. The freshwater infinity pool is on a promontory overlooking Zihuatanejo Bay and seems to overflow directly into the water below. The salt water pool and its adjoining Jacuzzi nestle among the rocks down by the ocean.

Two private residences add to the glamour and unique experiences at La Casa Que Canta:

EL MURMULLO, one of the resort's private villas, was the former home of a Mexican industrialist and was transformed by Casa?s owners into a multi-level, luxury four-suite villa with living room, dining room, kitchen, library and large outdoor terrace. Its infinity pool overlooks the sea. Each suite has its own private terrace with individual plunge pool.

From its vantage point overhanging Zihuatanejo Bay, it offers stunning views. The interior decor includes a collection of Mexican crafts as well as beautiful objects from contemporary Mexican artists.

EL ENSUEÑO, the resort?s other private residence is located above La Ropa Beach with direct access to its own beach club, El Ensueño is a truly exceptional villa with four elegantly-appointed suites, each with its private plunge pool and sea view verandahs. A large pool in the living room area is perched above La Ropa beach. Offering utmost privacy in a spectacular setting, El Ensueño has its own kitchen, dining room, bar, library and large outdoor living room.

The suites at El Murmullo and El Ensueno are available on an individual basis or as a complete residence. Both villas are fully staffed with butler, chef and concierge to guarantee guests every possible service and attention.
